TheCenter for Civic Engagement seeks a Special Events Administrator and Outreach Coordinator to join their team.

Job Duties

Student Outreach:
  • Supervises various teams of 50 undergraduates and graduate students annually
  • Manages the facilitation and communication of approximately 100 events annually organized by CCE and/or planned by CCE's student teams including but not limited to TEDxBard, the Scale Project, local community events and programs
  • Develops STEM outreach partnerships and programming that bridges Bard with local schools, community centers, and public libraries, reaching 1,500 children annually
  • Coordinates the Community Action Award selection and onboarding process, supervises CCE's support of recipients during internships, distributes stipends and manages student deliverables
Community Outreach:
  • Builds and maintains relationships with local community stakeholders by facilitating monthly networking engagements called "Red Hook Together"
  • Regularly meets with local community stakeholders to collaborate on programming, volunteer opportunities to foster reciprocal relationships
  • Coordinates regular community partner events and celebrations
International Outreach:
  • Serves as the Annandale network coordinator Bard's Global Network's Civic Engagement Initiative, which oversees student and coordinator partnerships, facilitates Annandale student travel for an annual global conference, and oversees civic engagement student and staff mobility itineraries at the Annandale campus
  • Recruits and develops a cohort of students earning the Certificate in Civic Engagement distinction on their transcript
Financial Management:
  • Works with the Associate Dean of Civic Engagement to track $160K local initiatives budget under the Vice President of Civic Engagement and collaborates with office leadership on grant management and fundraising for the local initiatives program
  • Reconciles all charges under the Vice President of Civic Engagement
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • A valid drivers' license is required

Compensation: $26.44 - $28.85/hour

This salary range reflects the College's good faith and reasonable estimate of the compensation for the position at the time of the job posting. Salary decisions are dependent on several factors including but not limited to market and organizational considerations, experience, and qualifications of a selected candidate as well as internal and external equity.
