Responsibilities
- Hours: Full-time, 30-40 hours per week
- Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 3 PM
- As a Special Education Teacher, you will work directly with students to create individualized learning plans that foster academic success and social-emotional growth
- Develop Individualized Education Plans (IEPs): Create and implement IEPs tailored to meet the unique needs of each student
- Adapt Curriculum: Modify lesson plans, teaching strategies, and classroom materials to meet the diverse learning needs of students
- Monitor Progress: Assess and track student progress to ensure goals are being met and adjust instructional strategies as needed
- Provide Direct Instruction: Offer individualized or small group instruction to help students improve academic skills and reach their educational goals
- Collaborate with Staff: Work closely with general education teachers, counselors, and other school professionals to develop an inclusive and supportive learning environment
- Promote Social Skills: Support students in developing essential social, communication, and life skills
- Maintain Documentation: Ensure accurate and up-to-date records of student progress, IEP goals, and communications with families
