Position Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Special Education Teacher to provide specialized instruction and support to students with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs). The ideal candidate will be skilled in differentiated instruction, behavior management, and collaboration with general education teachers, families, and related service providers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement individualized lesson plans tailored to students' IEP goals.
  • Provide direct instruction in small groups and one-on-one settings.
  • Modify curriculum and instructional strategies to meet the needs of diverse learners.
  • Monitor student progress and adjust instruction based on data-driven decisions.
  • Collaborate with general education teachers to support inclusion practices.
  • Work closely with families, specialists, and school staff to create a supportive learning environment.
  • Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations related to special education.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of student progress and IEP implementation.
  • Participate in IEP meetings, multidisciplinary team discussions, and professional development.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Special Education or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
  • Certification: Valid Pennsylvania Special Education Certification (or ability to obtain).
  • Experience: Previous experience in special education preferred, but not required.
  • Skills: Strong understanding of differentiated instruction, behavioral interventions, and inclusive education practices.
  • Collaboration: Ability to work effectively with teachers, parents, and support staff to meet students' needs.
  • Commitment: Passion for equity in education and providing high-quality support to students with disabilities.

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Starting Base Salary: $61,000 (competitive and commensurate with experience).
  • Hard-to-Fill Positions Stipend: Additional $2,000 for Special Education teachers.
  • Continued Education Incentive:
  • $3,000 for obtaining a Master's Degree in a related field.
  • $1,500 for Bachelor's Degree + 24 Graduate Credit Hours.
  • $1,500 for Master's Degree + 30 Graduate Credit Hours.
  • $3,000 annually for continuing education.
  • Longevity Pay: $1,200 for every three years of service.
  • Performance-Based Bonuses: Up to $7,500 to reward teaching excellence.
  • Health Care Benefits: 100% of the premium covered for the entire family.
  • Retirement Plan: 403(b) with 5% school matching.
  • Extracurricular Stipends: Additional stipends for sponsoring after-school clubs and enrichment programs.
