Job Title: Special Education Teacher
Location: Sarasota, FL (Various locations across Sarasota)
Hours: 8:00 AM - 3:30 PM, Monday - Friday
Compensation: $40 - $45 per hour Benefits, 401K, PTO
Position Overview:
We are seeking passionate Special Education Teachers for Full time positions in Sarasota, FL, starting immediately and lasting through the school year. These roles will involve working with students ranging from Kindergarten through 12th grade in a dedicated, cross-categorical classroom. Teachers will be working with students who have autism spectrum disorder (ASD) or other emotional disabilities. We are looking for educators who are committed to making a meaningful difference in the lives of special education students.
Job Responsibilities:
- Plan and implement instructional programs to meet the needs of students with autism (ASD) or emotional disabilities.
- Develop individualized education programs (IEPs) and monitor student progress.
- Work collaboratively with other special education staff, general education teachers, and support personnel.
- Create a positive, structured classroom environment that encourages students to succeed academically and socially.
- Provide one-on-one and small group instruction to students as needed.
- Participate in meetings and discussions regarding students' educational plans and needs.
Qualifications:
- Required: Florida Educator License with corresponding Special Education certification.
- Required: Minimum of 1 year of special education teaching experience.
- Required: Experience working with students across multiple grade levels.
- Ability to work effectively with students with autism (ASD) or emotional disabilities.
