Position Overview:
Onward Search is thrilled to partner with a school in Suffolk County, MA, to find a dedicated and compassionate Special Education Teacher for a full-time, in-person role. The position begins at the end of February and continues through the remainder of the school year.
Details You Should Know:
- Location: In-person only (no hybrid/virtual options)
- Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 am - 4:45 pm
- Hours: 40 hours/week
- Caseload: TBD
- Student Age/Grade Level: K-8
Key Responsibilities:
- Implement school-wide procedures to maintain a school culture of high academic achievement and behavioral expectations.
- Track and Develop IEP goals for mandated students
- In conjunction with classroom teachers, develop accommodations for curriculum and deliver rigorous, standards-based instruction and assessments
- Serve as direct service provider for approximately 15-20 students
- Collect and use data to inform instruction of student learning
- Collaborate with grade level colleagues and other specialist to ensure that every student shows student achievement gains
- Cultivate positive relationships with colleagues, students, parents and families
- Use of direct, multi-sensory program such as Orton Gillinghaam and/or Wilson Reading
Qualifications:
- Valid Special Education teaching license in Massachusetts.
