Position Overview:

Onward Search is excited to partner with a school near Denver, CO, to find a dedicated and compassionate Early Childhood Special Education Teacher for a full-time, in-person role. This is an incredible opportunity to support preschool students (ages 3-5) and make a meaningful impact on their early learning experience. The position begins in mid-April and runs through the remainder of the school year.


Details You Should Know:

  • Location: In-person only (no hybrid/virtual options)
  • Schedule: Monday - Thursday, 8:15 AM - 4:15 PM (flexibility on Fridays)
  • Hours: 37.5 hours/week
  • Caseload: Currently 18 students, with a possible 2 additional students
  • Student Age/Grade Level: Preschool (ages 3-5)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) tailored to meet each student's unique learning and developmental needs.
  • Adapt and modify curriculum to provide differentiated instruction that supports diverse learning styles and abilities.
  • Create and maintain a structured, inclusive, and nurturing classroom environment that fosters social-emotional and academic growth.
  • Utilize evidence-based interventions and strategies to support students with cognitive, behavioral, and developmental challenges.
  • Conduct ongoing assessments and progress monitoring to track student development and adjust instruction accordingly.
  • Collaborate closely with families, therapists, paraprofessionals, and other school staff to ensure comprehensive student support.
  • Implement behavior management techniques and provide social-emotional guidance to help students develop self-regulation skills.
  • Facilitate play-based and hands-on learning experiences that promote early literacy, communication, and motor skills.
  • Participate in IEP meetings, parent conferences, and professional development opportunities to support continuous growth.
  • Ensure compliance with state and federal special education regulations and maintain accurate student records.

Qualifications:

  • Colorado Early Childhood Special Education Certification required
