Description: Teacher of an ABA classroom; The appointed teacher will be responsible for implementing ABA strategies and programs, including discrete trials.

Job Summary:
  • Develop and implement individualized ABA programs for students with diverse needs and abilities.
  • Conduct assessments and collect data to track progress and make informed decisions about program adjustments.
  • Collaborate with other teachers, therapists, and support staff to ensure a cohesive and integrated approach to student learning and development.
  • Create a supportive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes positive behavior and social-emotional growth.
  • Communicate regularly with parents/guardians to provide updates on student progress and collaborate on strategies for home and school.
  • Stay up-to-date on best practices and research in ABA and early childhood education to continuously improve teaching methods and outcomes.
  • Implement ABA curriculum and strategies including discrete trial instruction
  • Exhibit structured classroom management

Qualifications:
  • Appropriate State of NJ Teacher Certification K-5 and Special Education endorsement (TOSWD or TOH).
  • Previous experience working with young children, particularly in an ABA classroom or clinical setting.
  • Strong understanding of ABA principles and techniques, including discrete trial training, naturalistic teaching, and behavior management strategies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues, parents, and other stakeholders.
  • Patience, compassion, and a genuine passion for working with children with special needs.
  • Knowledge of the Essential Elements.
  • Bilingual/Spanish a plus.

Working Conditions: District Wide

Salary: As per HBOE/HEA Agreement
