The Judge Group is hiring Paraeducators/Paraprofessionals for the school year.
We are seeking dedicated and compassionate individuals to provide 1:1 behavioral and academic to students with special needs, including autism, down syndrome, physical disabilities, etc.
W2 Contract, benefits (health/vision/dental/401k), and weekly pay.
Schedule: Monday - Friday, typical school hours (e.g., 8:30 AM - 3:45 PM; exact daily schedule will vary based on the assigned school building)
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide continuous, close-proximity 1:1 behavioral and academic support to the assigned student.
- Proactively prevent and effectively respond to elopement behaviors (running from aides).
- Safely manage and redirect aggressive physical behaviors (such as biting) using trained de-escalation strategies.
- Assist the student with personal hygiene, toileting, and other daily tasks as needed.
- Reinforce learning across various developmental domains, including cognitive, motor, self-help, and behavioral skills.
- Collaborate effectively with the classroom teacher, support staff, and specialists to ensure a consistent and supportive approach.
- Implement strategies and document progress within the student's Positive Behavior Support Plan (PBSP).
- Attend required in-service trainings focused on behavior management and intervention techniques.
- Support the development of appropriate social interactions in both individual and small group settings.
Qualifications:
Education & Experience (Required):
- High school diploma, GED, or higher.
- Previous experience working in a school setting and/or with students with special needs.
- Reliable transportation and the use of your own vehicle.
Skills & Knowledge:
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to function as a collaborative team player.
- Ability to maintain accurate documentation and perform basic record-keeping tasks.
- Knowledge of CPR, First Aid procedures, and general safety protocols.
