Description Join Leidos as a Project Manager for the Cargo Mission Contract (CMC), where you'll play a crucial role in managing projects for the development and certification of spaceflight hardware. Your expertise will support NASA's Johnson Space Center initiatives, including the International Space Station (ISS), Orion, HLS, Gateway, EHP, and other exploration Programs. You will collaborate with a dynamic team while utilizing commercial software such as IBM Maximo, Microsoft Project, and MS SharePoint, along with CMC custom software.
Occasional travel and flexible shift work may be required.
Primary Responsibilities - Oversee and manage hardware development projects aimed at certifying, flight-configuring, and delivering new hardware for spaceflight missions.
- Develop and maintain resource-loaded project schedules using MS Project Professional, ensuring all timelines are met.
- Create comprehensive basis-of-estimates (BOEs) for new on-contract growth opportunities.
- Review and approve critical documents such as work orders, non-conformance reports, presentations, designs, and trade studies.
Basic Qualifications: - Minimum of a Bachelor's degree with 5 years of relevant experience in project management.
Preferred Qualifications: - Demonstrated experience in developing BOEs, Cost Accounting Management (CAM), and Earned Value (EV) methodologies.
- Proven track record in proposal development for new business opportunities.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings effectively.
- Familiarity with NASA processes pertaining to spaceflight hardware development and certification, including anomaly resolution and configuration management.
- Experience in planning and tracking labor, material, and project deliverables for successful outcomes.
- Strong oral and written communication skills with the ability to engage multi-disciplinary teams and customers.
- Experience presenting technical and financial project updates to large audiences, including technical NASA boards.
- Knowledge of logistics, property, and traceability requirements for various classifications of NASA government property.
- Formal training or certification in process improvement and project management methodologies.
