Just as Southern NH Medical Center has been in the heart of Nashua, our Food Services and Nutrition Team is the heart of the medical center. Our team of dedicated and talented Cooks, Associates, and Dietitians maintain a place of comfort for staff, patients, and families of all backgrounds to relax and feel at ease with hot meals, coffee & a variety of courses. Both the Food Services and Nutrition teams collaborate to maintain all dietary restrictions and keep our patient-centered values across all areas of the medical center.
About the Job:
Provides nutritional care to patients through medical record review, clinical assessment, diet education, communication with nursing, physician and ancillary staff, and determines appropriateness of nutritional support and supplementation.
What You'll Do:
- Completes nutrition screening within established timeframe and conducts the nutrition assessment when warranted.
- Maintains in-depth knowledge of metabolism and nutrition in relation to specialized area of patient care.
- Demonstrates advanced knowledge of food chemistry and macro, micro-nutrient composition for successful alteration of dietary program in a highly specialized population.
- Participates as part of the multidisciplinary healthcare team to provide integrated, patient-focused care.
- Exhibits knowledge of food production and service systems in relation to safe, nutritious food products for patients.
Who You Are:
- Master's or Bachelor's degree in Nutrition and Dietetics from an accredited program required; Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (AND) accredited dietetic internship.
- Maintains status as Registered Dietitian and is Licensed in the state of New Hampshire with training in all age groups.
- One to three years' experience in a Hospital or Health Care facility preferred.
