Role: Sous Chef
Company:Camm & Hooper
Reports into:Senior Sous Chef
Location: London
Contract Type: Full Time, Permanent (48 hours per week)
Who we are:
At Camm & Hooper, we are reimagining what hospitality can be - one plate, one moment, one unforgettable experience at a time. We're reimagining hospitality as a creative hospitality studio, and our Broadwick Venues portfolio, spanning everything from 20-guest VIP dinners to 300+ immersive brand activations is the playground. Each event is a unique narrative expressed through mood, tone, texture, and taste. We don't want stylists. We want culinary disruptors who can craft emotion, meaning, and memory through food.
What we're looking for:
- We're not looking for just another event chef. We need a Sous Chef who is hungry to learn, lead, create and make an impact. Someone who doesn't just follow recipes but helps us push boundaries. Someone who sees flavour, presentation, and experience as connected, essential parts of one unforgettable moment.
- A dynamic Sous Chef who can support our Senior Sous Chef and Head Chef in driving culinary excellence across every event.
- Someone who's just as comfortable on the pass during a 300-guest activation as they are prepping meticulously for an intimate private dinner.
- A chef who understands that events cooking is high-pressure, but also high-creativity.
- Someone who gets that taste, texture, temperature, and timing are the building blocks of magic, and can execute them under pressure.
- A partner and a doer, ready to roll up your sleeves, get stuck in, and help elevate every dish and every service.
What you'll be responsible for:
- Assist in leading kitchen operations across multiple Broadwick Venues, ensuring the highest standards of quality, presentation, and delivery.
- Act as a second-in-command to the Senior Sous Chef, stepping up to lead sections and full services as required.
- Help deliver innovative, seasonally-driven menus that celebrate bold flavours, beautiful ingredients, and modern culinary storytelling.
- Be an on-site leader at events-motivating and managing the kitchen team to deliver exceptional service at pace.
- Support with training and mentoring junior chefs, encouraging creativity, skill-building, and a "no-compromise" mindset.
- Maintain outstanding standards of food hygiene, health and safety, and kitchen organisation.
- Work collaboratively with creative and operational teams to bring each event's narrative and mood to life through food.
- Problem-solve on the ground: thinking fast, staying calm, and finding solutions when the unexpected happens (because it will.).
You'll need to have:
- Experience working in high-end events catering, luxury hospitality, or fine dining restaurants is essential.
- A real passion for flavour, storytelling, and food presentation - this is more than just service; it's experience design.
- Strong leadership skills and experience running a section and managing small teams.
- The ability to adapt quickly, stay focused under pressure, and lead by example.
- A strong grasp of modern food trends, sustainability, and seasonality.
- A flexible, positive attitude and a desire to be part of a bold, creative hospitality movement.
- An eye for detail: understanding that in events, every plate is a first impression.
Why join Camm & Hooper?
Because we're rewriting the rules of event hospitality.
Because we believe in taste over trend, flavour over flash, and impact over imitation.
Because here, your ideas matter, and your craft will help shape the next chapter of Camm & Hooper's story.
You'll be part of a growing, visionary team that's changing how London experiences food, creativity, and celebration.
You'll have the space to push yourself, the mentorship to grow, and the opportunity to create moments people will never forget.
If you're ready to be more than just a chef,
If you want to help create a movement, not just meals,
Then we want you.
Come roll up your sleeves and build the future with us.
