The Solutions Architect possesses a well-rounded balance of practical Naval IT Business Systems architecture skills. This role is responsible for analyzing business needs, identifying tech solutions, and designing a comprehensive plan for implementation. Responsibilities:
• Strategic Analysis and Advising:
o Provide strategic guidance in the development process, making technical decisions regarding solutions and explaining how they will impact the organization.
o Evaluate the organization's business needs and determine how IT can support those needs leveraging software, hardware, or infrastructure.
o Work with business and technology partners to observe sandbox environments, obtain existing product documentation to help build architecture blueprints.

• Stakeholder Engagement and Implementation:
o Collaborate closely with various stakeholders, such as developers, project managers and analysts to ensure effective implementation of the solution, achieving the organization's objectives.
o Actively participate in groups and networks within MyNavy HR around technology topics and areas of interest. Participate in workshops and meetings to gather feedback and help create future state technical solutions.
o Ensure solutions are aligned with business objectives and meet user requirements.
o Pro-actively engage and directly interact with business product owners, sharing ideas and providing thought leadership around best course of action for improvement and transformation of Navy IT systems.

• Technical Subject Matter Expert (SME):
o Act as the technical SME as part of a cross-functional team dedicated to improving IT business systems that are undergoing transformation and strategic change.
o Undertake Technical Research, Prototyping and Proof of concepts in line with personal interest and the needs of the Navy.
o Share knowledge into the wider IT environment and provide background on possible alternative capabilities that can be utilized to drive vision forward.
o Implement a data centric approach to collect, verify, maintain, and share identity and other attributes
o Deploy shared services promoting the implementation of enterprise ICAM
o Knowledge of NIS as the planned DON Enterprise ICAM solution

• Change Agent: o Build operational and system architectures using DoD architecture frameworks
o Respond promptly and professionally to support requests if in COE scope and resolve them quickly, providing individualized and personalized attention
o Methodology & Quality Assurance
o Oversee development activities and ensure appropriate standards and quality solution developed and documentation standards are maintained
o Provide guidance on changes required throughout the design process
o Analyze, design and develop a roadmap and implementation plan based upon current vs future state
o Work with Compliance to develop a security and compliance sustainment process, plan for implementation of guiding principles for security and compliance across PLM
o Act as a change agent for business processes, working directly with business partners to ensure any new processes are implemented seamlessly and provide improvements to overall program execution and delivery
Qualifications:

• Ability to contribute to thought leadership of specific application technologies

• Ability to understand and interpret business requirements and translate them into technical specifications

• Ability to offer technical solutions in a wide range of technology platforms

• Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact with and present to a variety of senior-level executives, both internal and external to the company

• Experienced in the project management and implementation of technical systems

• Certification in specific technology areas is desirable but not essential

• Knowledge of Navy IT Business Systems or MyNavy HR is desirable but not essential.

• Background supporting DoD, DON, or military organization is a plus.

• Candidate is expected to communicate with both highly technical and non-technical audiences and stakeholders
