Job Description ECS is seeking a Senior Solutions Architect to work in our Washington, DC office . Please Note: This position is contingent upon contract award . ECS is seeking a Senior Solutions Architect to lead transformative IT initiatives for the Department of Defense (DoD) National Background Investigation Services (NBIS). This role drives the design and deployment of resilient, scalable, and mission-aligned solutions, shaping complex IT ecosystems. Ideal for a visionary leader eager to advance expertise in solution engineering, enterprise architecture, and strategic planning within a collaborative, high-impact team. Key Responsibilities Deliver expert guidance on system requirements, solution engineering, and comprehensive system design documentation. Analyze intricate IT environments to develop and manage requirements through strategic roadmaps, project plans, and collaborative tools. Spearhead solution engineering, conducting analysis of alternatives and designing robust systems, including optimized database architectures. Identify and resolve misalignments between enterprise architecture, IT strategy, and system designs, delivering actionable remediation strategies. Engage with stakeholders across customer management to advocate for software development lifecycle (SDLC) documentation, ensuring clarity and buy-in from end users and decision-makers. Mentor team members, fostering innovation and adherence to architectural best practices. Salary Range: $145,000 - $155,000 Required Skills Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Engineering, or related field. Minimum 7 years of experience in solutions architecture, with proven DoD project expertise. Strong proficiency in enterprise architecture frameworks (e.g., TOGAF, DoDAF), cloud platforms, and database design. Exceptional communication skills, with experience presenting complex technical concepts to diverse audiences. Clearance: Must have an active or interim Secret security clearance. Citizenship: U.S. citizenship is required, per DoD regulations. Desired Skills Master's degree in a relevant technical field. Certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect, CISSP, or TOGAF. Experience with NBIS or similar DoD IT programs. Familiarity with Agile methodologies and DevSecOps practices.
