Description and Requirements

As our Device Management Architect, you will be the driving force behind the design, development, and implementation of a robust and scalable device management platform. Leveraging your deep expertise in CPE devices, RDK, and DevOps practices, you will architect solutions that ensure seamless integration, security, and efficient management of our deployed device ecosystem. You will lead the adoption of continuous integration, continuous delivery, and continuous monitoring methodologies, fostering a highly efficient and reliable device management infrastructure. This role requires a strategic thinker with strong technical leadership skills, capable of collaborating effectively across teams and staying at the forefront of industry advancements.

Responsibilities
  • Architectural Design and Implementation: Design and implement scalable, secure, and efficient device management architectures specifically for CPE devices utilizing the RDK framework.
  • DevOps Leadership: Lead the development and implementation of DevOps practices for the device management platform, including establishing CI/CD pipelines, automated testing strategies, and comprehensive monitoring solutions.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate closely with engineering, operations, and other cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of the device management platform with existing infrastructure and workflows.
  • Technical Documentation: Develop and maintain comprehensive technical documentation for device management architectures, solutions, and operational procedures.
  • Technical Guidance and Mentorship: Provide technical leadership, guidance, and mentorship to junior team members, fostering their growth and expertise in device management and DevOps.
  • Technology Trend Monitoring: Continuously monitor industry trends, emerging technologies in device management, DevOps, cloud platforms, and RDK to identify opportunities for innovation and improvement.
  • Security and Compliance: Ensure that the device management platform adheres to security best practices and relevant industry compliance standards.
  • Performance Optimization: Design and implement solutions that optimize the performance, reliability, and scalability of the device management platform.
Skills and Qualifications
  • Experience: 8+ years of progressive experience in device management, DevOps, or a closely related field.
  • CPE & RDK Expertise: Deep and demonstrable knowledge of CPE (Customer Premises Equipment) devices, the RDK (Reference Design Kit) framework, and associated device management protocols (e.g., TR-069, SNMP).
  • DevOps Proficiency: Strong practical experience with DevOps principles, methodologies, and a comprehensive understanding of CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure-as-code concepts.
  • DevOps Tooling: Hands-on experience with relevant DevOps tools such as Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes, Git, Ansible/Chef/Puppet, and monitoring/logging solutions (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack).
  • Programming Skills: Proficiency in one or more programming languages relevant to backend development and automation, such as Java, Python, or C .
  • Cloud Technologies: Experience with cloud-based device management platforms and services (e.g., AWS IoT Core, Azure IoT Hub, Google Cloud IoT Platform).
  • Containerization: Solid understanding and practical experience with containerization technologies like Docker and orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes.
  • Communication & Collaboration: Excellent verbal and written communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical
  • Leadership: Demonstrated ability to provide technical leadership, guide teams, and drive technical direction.
Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
Nice to Have
  • RDK-B certifications.
  • DevOps certifications such as DevOps Foundation Certification or Certified DevOps Engineer.
  • Experience working within a cable MSO (Multiple System Operator) environment with a strong understanding of DOCSIS/Fiber Plant/Infrastructure/CPE technologies and workflows.
  • Knowledge of network management principles and protocols.
