The Sales Engineer's role involves developing long-term, strategic relationships with assigned accounts, in collaboration with the Regional Sales Manager, to achieve significant sales and profit growth, meeting or exceeding quotas. This role requires proactive collaboration with sales management and support departments to ensure timely fulfillment of sales and marketing needs. The Sales Engineer provides technical product application assistance and ongoing sales support to accounts, works with product development groups, and gathers VOC (Voice of Customer) feedback for new technology and product development needs. They ensure Deltek products are presented effectively to maintain and increase revenue by prioritizing opportunities on an account-by-account basis for optimal sales and margin results.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and increase sales volume and margin with existing and new accounts.
  • Prepare and perform detailed product demonstrations for prospects and existing customers.
  • Partner with Sales to conduct pre-sales discussions, strategize on sales approaches, and offer product advice.
  • Develop and update demo scripts and databases, and respond to RFPs.
  • Develop and maintain Sales Engineering learning tools.
  • Assist Sales Managers in qualifying prospects from a functional and business process perspective.
  • Represent the company and demonstrate products at sales and marketing events.
  • Execute assigned sales goals and sales plans.
  • Actively support the corporation's Win Strategy.
  • Coordinate business development activities with other team members within the company.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • Detailed knowledge of Project Accounting and Project Management.
  • 5-7 years of experience in or servicing an ERP sales environment, preferably with knowledge of Vantagepoint / ERP.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively present to Executive Management.
  • Enthusiastic about accounting software and related technology, with a good understanding of the complex sales cycle.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Positive, energetic, "can-do" attitude; motivated, nimble, and a self-starter.

Qualifications :

  • Over 5 years of experience working in an IT environment.
  • Consulted with senior-level management.
  • Experience leading complex to highly complex projects and tasks.
  • Provided technical expertise and direction to others in a pre-sales environment, collaborating with various teams.
  • Preferably experienced with Vantagepoint/Ajera environments.
  • Prior ERP pre-sales experience is preferred.
  • Strong customer management skills, including excellent oral and written communication.
  • Experience working with a variety of roles and levels, from developers to senior managers to customers.
