Solution Architect (Applications) up to £800/day (Inside IR35) 12-Month Contract Hybrid (Bristol - 3 days on site)
We are seeking a skilled Solution Architect (Applications) to lead the secure design, migration, and hosting of both COTS and non-COTS applications across virtual environments. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to a high-profile programme from initial architecture through to deployment.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide subject matter expertise and architectural leadership across application hosting, migration, and data management.
Design and document High-Level Architectures (HLAs) and Architecture Overviews to support a broad application landscape.
Create and maintain detailed Low-Level Designs (LLDs) and build/configuration documentation for deployment activities.
Oversee technical delivery from early-stage planning through build, migration, and go-live.
Participate in technical design sessions, aligning solutions with overall enterprise architecture and project goals.
Collaborate closely with delivery partners, security teams, and project managers to ensure alignment with governance and compliance standards.
Support the development of test strategies and assurance plans, ensuring solutions meet performance and security requirements.
Required Skills & Experience:
Demonstrated experience architecting and delivering application and data solutions in high-security or complex enterprise environments.
Proficient in virtualisation and hosting technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V), with an understanding of scalable infrastructure patterns.
Strong background in application migration, particularly for mixed estates (COTS, legacy, bespoke systems).
Confident working in multi-disciplinary teams, with a proactive and consultative approach to stakeholder engagement.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a strong focus on quality and attention to detail.
