Solution Architect with the
Office of Information Technology The Solution Architect is a key liaison between business units and implementation teams, ensuring that technical solutions align with business goals. This role requires a background in software development, experience in gathering complex project requirements, and a proven ability to design and implement effective solutions. This is a
hybrid position that requires in-office and remote work with the approval of the supervisor. The days and frequency in the office can change at any time during employment based on the business needs of the organization.

Job Responsibilities- Collaborates with business units to understand their needs, goals, and challenges
- Facilitates workshops and meetings to gather input from stakeholders
- Creates architecture diagrams, documentation, and roadmaps to communicate the solution
- Designs comprehensive solutions that align with business objectives and technical feasibility ensuring solutions consider scalability, security, and maintainability
- Designs and develops in-house solutions for projects deemed suitable for internal implementation, leveraging existing team capabilities and resources
- Acts as the primary liaison between business units, vendors, and implementation teams
- Conducts technical reviews during implementation to ensure the solution aligns with the design specifications
- Monitors progress, troubleshoots issues, and adjusts plans as necessary to ensure successful implementation
- Fosters strong working relationships with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Communicates complex technical concepts in a clear and accessible manner
- Advocates for best practices in development and solution architecture
- Stays updated on emerging technologies and industry trends
- Identifies opportunities to improve processes, tools, and methodologies
Minimum Qualifications High school diploma/GED
and five (5) years of related experience;
OR two (2) years of experience at the lower level Systems Analyst 4 (ITP023) or position equivalent.
Note: An equivalent combination of knowledge, education, job or intern experience, training, or certifications that provides the necessary knowledge and skills to successfully perform the job at the level listed may be substituted year-over-year.
Additional Information Key Competencies: - Proven background in software development with experience in one or more modern programming languages (e.g., Python, JavaScript/Typescript, C , etc.).
- Experience with version control systems such as Git, and active contributions to collaborative projects (e.g., GitHub or equivalent).
- Demonstrated history of designing and delivering complex solutions.
- Hands-on experience gathering and documenting requirements for multifaceted projects.
- Portfolio of successful projects, showcasing technical design and implementation capabilities.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.
