FTS has an opportunity for a Solid Rocket Motor (SRM) technical SETA in Arlington, VA The Solid Rocket Motor (SRM) technical SETA will focus on propulsion design, fabrication, and production. Responsibilities Develop and test advanced materials for extreme environments relevant to propulsion systems
Provide contract support to include funding management, project management, risk management, and performance metrics
Develop test platforms
Collaborate with domestic commercial providers for advanced materials and manufacturing
Required Skills/Qualifications Secret clearance
BS STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math) in engineering discipline
10+ years of relevant experience
Proven leadership in developing and testing advanced materials for extreme environments relevant to propulsion systems
Deep expertise in high-temperature materials science, including manufacturing/processing, characterization, testing (e.g., in-situ monitoring), and performance evaluation
Experience collaborating with the domestic ecosystem for advanced materials and manufacturing, including industry and service laboratories
Experience with development of test platforms and operations
Knowledge of relevant regulations, standards, and policies related to propulsion systems
Ability to quickly learn unfamiliar technical areas; highly adaptable to change
Resilient in supporting dynamic program environments
Persistence to find technical and administrative solutions and break down roadblocks
Strong organization and project management skills
Excellent written and oral communication skills; craft narratives via PowerPoint slides
Demonstrated program management success, including: Funding and contract management
Team leadership, stakeholder engagement, and cultivating technology transition
Project lifecycle management (from requirements analysis to verification and validation)
Risk management, achieving performance metrics
Desired Skills/Qualifications M.S. STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math) in engineering discipline
Specific experience with dynamic thrust control or solid rocket motors
Ability to be cleared to TS or TS/SCI
