Job Title: Solar PV Installation & Design Team Leader
Location: West Midlands (Sites Midlands-wide)
Job Type: Full-Time

Salary: 40,000 - 50,000

About the Role:
We are looking for an experienced and driven Solar PV Installation & Design Team Leader to oversee and deliver high-quality solar PV projects across the Midlands. This is a hands-on leadership role combining technical design, site management, installation work, and oversight of industry accreditations within our growing renewables division. Projects include domestic retrofit, industrial, and new-build installations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of solar PV installers across various sites in the Midlands.
  • Conduct site visits and technical assessments to determine the most efficient and effective PV system designs.
  • Design solar photovoltaic (PV) installations for both rooftop and ground-mounted systems.
  • Prepare and issue accurate quotations based on site conditions and client requirements.
  • Oversee and participate in the installation of solar PV systems, ensuring high standards of safety and quality.
  • Manage and maintain MCS (Microgeneration Certification Scheme) and other relevant industry accreditations for the renewables department.
  • Coordinate with clients, contractors, and internal teams to ensure smooth project delivery.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentoring to team members to ensure skill development and consistent performance.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant health & safety legislation, industry standards, and company procedures.

Requirements:

  • Extensive experience in solar PV installation and system design.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of MCS standards and renewable energy regulations.
  • Excellent technical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Full UK driving licence and flexibility to travel across the Midlands.
  • Competency in reading and interpreting technical plans and electrical drawings.

Desirable:

  • Recognised electrical qualifications (e.g., NVQ Level 3, 18th Edition Wiring Regulations).
  • CSCS card or equivalent health and safety accreditation.
  • Experience leading teams on domestic, industrial, and new-build solar installations.
