YOUR ROLE

The Software Testing Enablement Manager will focus on empowering Genworth's software delivery teams to effectively conduct testing throughout the SDLC, encompassing strategies, tools, and practices to improve quality, efficiency, and collaboration, while advocating for quality across the enterprise. They will seek to build a culture of testing excellence within our IT organization by providing education, training, strategic input, and resources to ensure that teams understand and adhere to SDLC QA Testing standards, appropriately utilize testing tools, and adopt best practices for testing efforts. This is primarily an individual contributor role with enterprise scope/influence but may involve the supervision of contract resources/teams as needed.


What you will be doing

  • Quality Culture - foster a mindset of delivering quality software within the IT organization, where everyone takes ownership of code quality and embraces proven testing practices.
  • Education and Training - Identify training opportunities and collaborate with QA teams to develop and deliver training programs and materials to educate practitioners and stakeholders on quality assurance methodologies, tools, and best practices. Views QA knowledge as a strategic asset and protects and enables this knowledge to be easily shared and understood.
  • Mentoring and Coaching - provide guidance and support to QA teams and practitioners, helping them to develop their skills and knowledge. Establishes a Community of Practice and promotes awareness and participation in forums, such as DevSecOps, AgileCOP, etc
  • Tool Adoption and Utilization - facilitate the adoption of approved QA tools and technologies, ensuring that teams are proficient in their use. Promotes centralized management of test assets, such as code, requirements, design documents, and test scripts.
  • Process Improvement - identify areas for improvement in QA processes and implement changes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness. Promotes adoption of CI/CD pipelines. Promotes Test Environment Management and Test Data Management best practices.
  • Promotes Test Automation - identify QA processes that would benefit from automation and support the teams and QA testers in adopting automation tools and approaches.
  • Metrics and Reporting - track and analyze QA metrics to identify trends and areas for improvement, and report on quality performance to stakeholders. Works to establish a consistent model across the enterprise for QA metrics and expectations.
  • Quality Initiatives - creates a roadmap for Quality initiatives which will be developed in conjunction with supporting teams to track and manage Quality projects. (applications, data quality, api/services, etc)
  • Collaboration - work with other teams and stakeholders (e.g., development, product, operations) to ensure that quality is integrated into all aspects of the SDLC.
  • Tool Management and Vendor Relations - maintain our inventory of licensed software testing tools and coordinate as needed to ensure Genworth is provided maximum value in support.
  • Staying up to date - keep up with the latest trends and best practices in QA and testing.

What you bring

  • Bachelor's degree in Technology, Computer Science, or related field; or equivalent experience.
  • Testing Certification such as the Certified Tester Foundation Level (CTFL) from ISTQB
  • 5+ years experience in conducting software quality testing, including test automation set-up
  • Understanding of database schemas and querying tools; demonstrated understanding of software development life cycle (SDLC); understanding of test automation framework and tools
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills; creative solving of technical problems
  • Ability to prioritize and organize effectively; handle shifting priorities and multiple projects and priorities simultaneously; work with cross-functional teams
  • Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively across all organizational levels.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office tools (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams), and especially Excel

Nice to have

  • Experience with ServiceNow, PractiTest, TestComplete, GitLab, and/or Jenkins with an understanding of how to integrate the tools above to work together in a coordinated way.

The base salary pay range for this role starts at a minimum rate of $139,400 up to the maximum of $ 226,900. In addition to your base salary, you will also be eligible to participate in an incentive plan. The incentive plan is based on performance and the target earning opportunity is 15% of your base compensation. The final determination on base pay for this position will be based on multiple factors at the time of this job posting including but not limited to geographic location, experience, and qualifications to ensure pay equity within the organization.
