Software Tester - Music Technology

Department: Quality Assurance

Reporting To: Software QA Managers


Description Our Software Testers adopt a variety of user personas, creating and executing simple to complex real world test cases for a wide range of music industry products introduced by inMusic's global development teams.

Their test creation and execution is hands-on and informed by a general love for audio gear, production, and performance. They are keen troubleshooters. They are strong communicators, and work independently or in a collaborative project setting. They learn how new products work quickly and share knowledge. They bring new ideas to enhance our methods.

Please note: We are hiring for Junior, Graduate, and Software Tester positions. We are not accepting any services provided by 3rd party recruiters at this time.
Key Responsibilities
  • Create and execute detailed test plans for new products.
  • Maintain software quality for existing products.
  • Maintain testing status/progress using standard bug tracking tools.
  • Advise approval of final code/hardware components.
  • Create FAQ, release notes, and support materials for end-user support groups.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise Must-Have:
  • Commercial experience in test or quality assurance roles
  • Skilled with creative software and hardware, especially music technology products
  • Proven ability to design high-quality, reliable software test assets including test design, approach, scripts, and bugs
  • Full lifecycle experience in multiple software projects, from inception, planning, development, test, deployment, and maintenance
  • Experienced with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Experienced with both Windows and MacOS platforms
  • Strong written and spoken communication skills
  • Excellent problem-solving approach
  • Fluent spoken and good written English
  • Located in United Kingdom, within commuting distance
Nice to have:
  • A degree-level qualification in Computer Science, Music Production, Audio Engineering, general music practices/performance, or a related field
  • Experience with scripting languages and test automation frameworks
  • Software development background.
