We are in search of a Software Test Engineer to develop and execute manual and automated test procedures for robotics systems. You will work with software engineers to understand complex electromechanical / software problems by working closely with the machinery. You will develop test fixtures to validate performance and functional requirements. Some travel may be required to diagnose and collect issues in the field.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop, execute, and document detailed test plans, procedures, and protocols for sub-system and system-level verification.
  • Define test coverage metrics and acceptance criteria for system validation.
  • Conduct functional, performance, stress, and environmental tests to validate system reliability and compliance with requirements.
  • Design and implement automated test systems to streamline testing and data collection.
  • Work with systems engineers and the human factors team to support project validation deliverable
  • Conduct system integration testing of hardware, firmware, and software components at various stages throughout the development cycle
  • Work with external test groups to plan and execute system testing and provide logistical and technical support, as appropriate
  • Diagnose and resolve hardware and system-level issues using advanced testing tools (e.g., oscilloscopes, multimeters, logic analyzers), and work closely with design and development teams to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
  • Generate detailed reports summarizing findings, test coverage, and recommendations for design improvements
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in EE, ME, or a related technical field, or equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years of experience in hardware and systems testing, verification, or validation (experience with electromechanical or robotics systems is preferred).
  • Ability to develop automated test scripts for continuous integration and deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.
  • Proficiency in using test equipment such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, power analyzers, and environmental chambers.
  • Strong understanding of system integration and testing methodologies.
  • Hands-on experience with test automation and scripting tools (e.g., Python, MATLAB).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for diagnosing and resolving complex system issues.
  • Experience working with and/or in a Nationally Recognized Test Laboratory (NRTL) setting.
  • Knowledge of industry standards and compliance requirements for hardware systems.
  • Strong technical knowledge of sensor integration, motion control, embedded systems, and communication protocols (e.g., UART, SPI, I2C, CAN).
  • Good written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain/teach technical concepts to others.
