We are seeking an experienced
Software Test Analyst to join their team supporting multiple software development projects for the
Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS). This position requires a
highly skilled QA analyst who can operate both independently and collaboratively in a
fast-paced Agile environment.
Job Title: Software Test Analyst 5Location: Lansing, MI (Hybrid - Onsite 2 days/week)
Responsibilities: - Analyze system requirements and user stories to create detailed test cases and test scripts.
- Perform manual and automated testing across multiple platforms and browsers.
- Conduct testing across all SDLC phases: System Integration Testing (SIT), User Acceptance Testing (UAT), Regression, Accessibility, Performance, and Post Deployment Validation.
- Utilize tools such as Postman, Rest Client for API testing.
- Write complex SQL and P-SQL queries for test data validation and verification.
- Generate and maintain test documentation, test reports, and metrics.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, stand-ups, reviews, and retrospectives.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure requirements traceability and defect resolution.
- Build environment-specific test suites across DEV, UAT, QAT, and PRE-PROD.
- Ensure ADA compliance by using accessibility tools such as JAWS or AccVerify.
Required Skills and Experience (Must Have - 5+ years): - Strong experience designing and executing manual and automated test cases.
- Proficiency in the Secure Application Development Lifecycle (SADLC).
- Solid understanding of testing methodologies and QA processes.
- Hands-on experience with Java and JavaScript.
- Familiarity with API testing tools such as Postman or Rest Client.
- Skilled in writing and executing SQL and P-SQL queries.
- Experience in issue tracking and defect management.
Preferred Skills (Nice to Have): - Experience with automated testing tools/frameworks: Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, Provar, Katalon.
- Experience with Azure DevOps Testing Module.
- Experience testing mobile applications (iOS and Android).
Interview Process: Hiring manager will likely request onsite interviews. Candidates must be available to interview onsite at the Lansing office. A screenshot photo of candidate will be required for any interviews as well as a vendor present at beginning of any virtual interviews, if requested.
Duration: 1 year with the intention for contractor to convert to fulltime at the State of Michigan in 1-2 years. At the time of conversion, candidate must be authorized to work in the US without VISA sponsorship by the State of Michigan.
Remote or On-site: Candidates MUST be local at time of submission. Hiring manager is not currently interested in candidates who will need to relocate to accept offer. NO REMOTE ONLY OPTION. Position will be hybrid schedule requiring onsite presence 2 days a week.
