Job Title: Software Support Engineer - Automotive Connectivity
Location: Newark, CA (On-site required)
Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM, 40 hrs/week (Potential for OT)

Job Summary:

Lucid Motors is seeking a Software Support Engineer with 5+ years of experience to join the Automotive Connectivity team. The selected candidate will play a key role in diagnosing and troubleshooting vehicle software issues, especially related to the Access Control Module (ACM) and other ECU systems. This is a unique opportunity to work in a niche, high-impact area of the EV industry alongside a cross-functional and collaborative team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Investigate and resolve customer and development-related issues flagged across teams.
  • Test and submit debug reports using Vector tools; document issues clearly for development handoff.
  • Work specifically with the Access Control Module (ACM) - handling diagnostics, testing, and software troubleshooting.
  • Interact with internal and external customers to identify, reproduce, and resolve software bugs.
  • Perform OTA updates and ensure smooth software deployment to vehicles.
  • Collaborate across teams on infotainment system issues, connectivity problems, and feature development testing.
  • Provide support for field service engineering teams, documenting and resolving issues at the ECU level.
  • Troubleshoot connectivity issues involving LTE, WiFi, GPS, and Ethernet-based networks.
  • Participate in the testing of vehicle networks and communication protocols (CAN, CANoe).
  • Gain exposure to TCU, infotainment, embedded systems, and diagnostics technologies.
Required Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience working with Access Control Module (ACM) or equivalent ECU systems.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience using Linux for debugging or support in an automotive/embedded environment.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience using Vector tools (CANoe, CANalyzer).
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field (Mandatory).
  • Strong understanding of diagnostics (UDS, DoIP), testing and debugging techniques.
  • Familiarity with vehicle communication protocols (CAN, LIN, Ethernet) and automotive network architecture.
Preferred Skills:
  • Experience with Infotainment Systems and Telematics Control Units (TCU).
  • Exposure to OTA software updates, vehicle software deployment cycles.
  • Understanding of communication standards like SOME/IP, DoIP, E2E.
  • Scripting/programming experience: Python, CAPL, C/C .
  • Familiarity with embedded systems, network simulation, and test plan creation.
  • Hands-on experience with WiFi, LTE, GPS, and connectivity troubleshooting.
  • Knowledge of AUTOSAR Classic and Adaptive systems.
