Overview

Kimley-Horn, one of Fortune Magazine's "100 Best Companies to Work For," is looking for a Software QA Analyst to join the Enterprise Systems team in the St. Paul, MN office.

You're a motivated, self-starter with an interest in software testing, ready to take on the opportunity to join our QA department. Your dynamic skillset will be utilized to work with new software and technologies as you help define and plan testing strategies. You will work side-by-side with our development team, internal partners, and vendor consultants as you develop your quality management and project management skills. This is an in-office position.

The base salary range for this position is: $75,000 - $85,000 depending on experience and location.

Responsibilities
  • Define, monitor, and maintain the overall test strategy for custom business applications and system integrations
  • Document and present software testing results and make recommendations for software enhancements to project stakeholders
  • Actively participate in requirements and design sessions to create test plans
  • Utilize both manual test cases and automated testing tools and frameworks to perform functional, system integration, data quality, and performance/load testing
  • Identify creative ways to break applications and solutions
  • Troubleshoot and assist in the diagnosis of unintended results from testing
  • Utilize bug tracking tools to report, document, and track bugs
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred
  • 0-3 years of experience in software testing and quality assurance field
  • Strong communication, organization, leadership and project management skills
  • Ability to handle multiple projects and work on business-critical solutions across a variety of different disciplines
  • Ability to build good working relationships with people at all levels; and understand the needs of different stakeholders and communicate with them appropriately
  • Thorough understanding of software testing methodologies and techniques
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Preferred Technical Experience:
  • Basic understanding of software testing methodologies and techniques
  • Basic understanding of coding logic and concepts
  • Understanding of web, software, and application development process and methodologies
