Advantage Tech seeks a detail-oriented Quality Analyst for a long-term contract opportunity in Kansas City, MO. This role requires 3 days onsite each week and focuses on manual and UAT testing across various internal systems and integrations. The ideal candidate brings strong SQL skills, experience coordinating UAT with business stakeholders, and a passion for delivering clean, business-aligned software releases.

Your Job

As a Quality Analyst, you will collaborate with Business Analysts, Developers, and stakeholders to design and execute manual tests, support UAT efforts, and validate data accuracy across systems. You will ensure test coverage aligns with business requirements and proactively identify defects and issues before production releases.

The Work
  • Review business and technical requirements for clarity and testability
  • Design and execute manual test cases for web applications, system integrations, and reports
  • Coordinate User Acceptance Testing (UAT) sessions with business users and manage feedback loops
  • Execute SQL queries to validate data transformations and backend accuracy
  • Document and track defects, assign severity, and collaborate with developers on resolutions
  • Perform regression testing for new releases and patches
  • Ensure traceability from requirements to test cases and results
  • Provide regular status updates to project managers and QA leadership
  • Maintain comprehensive and audit-ready test documentation
Qualifications
  • 4-6 years of experience in QA or software testing roles
  • Strong hands-on experience with manual testing and UAT coordination
  • Solid understanding of test case development, execution, and documentation
  • Working knowledge of SQL for data validation and backend testing
  • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum development environments
  • Ability to clearly communicate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Experience using test and defect tracking tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps, or similar
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Nice to Have
  • Experience testing APIs using tools such as Postman
  • Familiarity with test management platforms (e.g., TestRail, Zephyr)
  • Exposure to automation frameworks or interest in automation career progression
  • Background in financial services, insurance, or other highly regulated environments
