Summary: The Reality Labs Wearables products are helping more people around the world come together and connect through new devices such as AI glasses and software empowered by Meta AI. We are committed to driving the state-of-the-art forward through relentless innovation across technical domains. We are seeking an engineering manager for our embedded and operating system team. The ideal candidate has proven engineering leadership experience, design and build skills, passion for low level-systems software, and hands on experience with working on operating systems at the lower layers.
Required Skills: Software Engineering Manager, Wearables Core OS Responsibilities:
- Manage engineers and help them develop their careers, assigning them to projects tailored to their skill levels, long-term skill development, personalities, and work styles.
- Communicate and collaborate effectively with cross-functional hardware and software engineering teams.
- Champion engineering and operational efficiency strategy and execution, establishing metrics and processes for regular assessment and improvement.
- Set clear expectations and create a positive work environment based on accountability, in collaboration with the engineering and management teams.
- Work closely with dedicated recruiting staff to expand the team, including sourcing candidates, interviewing candidates, participating in conferences/events, and on-boarding new employees.
Minimum Qualifications: Minimum Qualifications:
- 3+ years of work experience architecting, developing, and launching software products and/or services.
- 3+ years of experience managing and growing software engineers.
- Experience in handling priorities and collaborating across an organizational environment.
- Experience delivering low level operating system modules, services, and SDKs.
- Experience in one of the following OS domains: Android/AOSP, Linux, RTOS, iOS, Windows OS.
Preferred Qualifications: Preferred Qualifications:
- 6+ years of direct engineering experience with development and implementation of Android systems software on shipped products
- 2+ years of experience with on-device AI acceleration, software stack, toolchain, and performance benchmarking
- 2+ years of experience of building biometric solutions on mobile/embedded systems
Public Compensation: $177,000/year to $251,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits
