About the Role
We're seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead a squad and drive the development of world-class solutions. The ideal candidate will combine technical expertise with strong leadership capabilities to guide a team of engineers in creating scalable, high-quality, and future-proof our product.
NOTE: This role requires being onsite in our NYC office an average of 1 day per week.
Responsibilities:
• Team Leadership: Manage and mentor a team of software engineers to cultivate a collaborative and inclusive team culture. Offer guidance on career development and professional growth.
• Project Management: Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of software projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within scope, and with high quality. Coordinate with cross-functional teams to align on priorities and dependencies.
• Technical Oversight: Provide architectural guidance and ensure best practices are followed for development, testing, and deployment. Help resolve technical challenges and maintain the team's technical excellence.
• Process Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements to enhance team productivity, efficiency, and software quality. Promote the adoption of agile methodologies and DevOps practices.
• Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with product managers, designers, and other stakeholders
• to define and translate project requirements into actionable plans. Communicate project status, risks, and issues to all relevant parties.
• Innovation: Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies. Encourage innovation within the team to continuously improve our products and processes.
Qualifications:
• Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree (or equivalent experience) in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience: At least 7 years of experience in software engineering, with a minimum of 3 years in a management role.
• Technical Skills: Strong proficiency in Javascript, Typescript, React, Node.JS, and Postgres (bonus points if you have worked with back-end languages such as Python in the past). Deep experience with modern software development practices (e.g., Agile Scrum, DevOps).
• Leadership: Demonstrated the ability to lead and inspire a team and have a proven track record of successfully delivering complex software projects in SaaS companies.
• Communication: Excellent verbal and written English communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, focusing on delivering practical and scalable solutions.
• Customer Obsession: Inherent understanding that delighting our customers is critical to our success, and skilled in direct customer interactions.
• Security Knowledge: Familiarity with cybersecurity principles and practices is highly desirable.

The estimated total compensation range for this position, located in NYC, is $180,000 - $220,000
