FULL DESCRIPTION: Our client is seeking a Software Engineering Manager, disciplined in managing Software and Project Engineering teams, for our low-level platform software team located in Irvine, CA. This organization is responsible for developing and supporting our real-time embedded software for numerous processing platforms used in military and commercial avionics products and cockpit display systems including our safety-critical, civil certifiable, multicore processing environment.
The selected candidate will be responsible for:
- Plan and lead work toward the design, development, and verification of real-time embedded software.
- Review duration and effort estimates for software development and verification tasks.
- Present project status including schedule and budget performance
- Assess, review and present project risks and opportunities.
- Mentor software developers in technical and process-related areas.
The selected candidate will also possess:
- Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 12 years of relevant experience
- Demonstrated ability to identify complex problems, evaluate options, and develop solutions
- Energetic and proactive self-starter that builds sound, collaborative relationships
- Proficiency with modern software development best practices and configuration management tools
- U.S. Person (U.S. citizen, permanent resident, refugee or asylee) or eligible to obtain necessary export authorizations required.
- Strong background in the development of low-level software and concurrent processing solutions
- Python programming experience
- Experience with DO-178B/C (DAL A or B preferred)
- Experience developing software for real-time operating systems (VxWorks, LynxOS, GHS)
Salary Range: $140k-$175k/yr
