The monetization technology team works on building and running large-scale, globally distributed, fault-tolerant ads systems. SREs keep the systems up and running with the highest level of availability, ensuring our users have the best experience possible. We are looking for talented individuals to join us for an internship in 2025. Internships at TikTok aim to offer students industry exposure and hands-on experience. Internships at TikTok aim to provide students with hands-on experience in developing fundamental skills and exploring potential career paths. A vibrant blend of social events and enriching development workshops will be available for you to explore. Here, you will utilize your knowledge in real-world scenarios while laying a strong foundation for personal and professional growth. It runs for 12 weeks beginning in May/June 2025 . Successful candidates must be able to commit to one of the following summer internship start dates below: - Monday, May 12 - Monday, May 19 - Tuesday May 27 (Memorial Day May 26) - Monday, June 9 - Monday, June 23 Please state your availability clearly in your resume (Start date, End date). Key Responsibilities: 1. Engage in and improve the whole lifecycle of Ads systems - from system design consulting through to launch reviews, deployment, operation and refinement. 2. Build availability of services deployed across multiple data centers globally. 3. Deliver tools/software to improve the reliability, scalability and operability of services. 4. Measure and monitor availability, latency and overall service health. 5. Practice sustainable incident response and postmortems. 6. Participate in on-call rotations across continents.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications: 1. Pursuing a BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or other relevant majors. 2. Excellent programming, debugging, and optimization skills in one or more general-purpose programming languages, including but not limited to C, C , Java, Python, Perl, or Go. 3. Familiarity with Unix/Linux operating systems and IP networking. 4. Experience in problem-solving, application issues, or production operations. 5. Experience in automating routine tasks. 6. Effective communication skills and a sense of ownership and drive. Preferred Qualification: 1. Experience in SRE of Ads/recommendation systems. 2. Experience designing, analyzing and troubleshooting large-scale distributed systems. Job Information

For Pay Transparency Compensation Description (Hourly) - Campus Intern

The hourly rate range for this position in the selected city is $45- $60.

Benefits may vary depending on the nature of employment and the country work location. Interns have day one access to health insurance, life insurance, wellbeing benefits and more. Interns also receive 10 paid holidays per year and paid sick time (56 hours if hired in first half of year, 40 if hired in second half of year).
