Description Position Summary

As a Software Engineer, you will play a crucial role in the development and maintenance of high-quality API services. Your primary responsibility will be to design, build, and optimize scalable APIs using .NET C and develop data structures in databases on AWS cloud environments. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate diverse systems and ensure robust, secure data interactions to deliver a user workspace. This workspace will enable users to personalize their experience, track what is most important, and surface other related relevant data.

Position: Software Engineer

Reporting to: Software Engineering Manager

Supervises: n/a

Schedule: 35-hour work week, Monday through Friday

Compensation: $75,000-$120,000 (this range is for the NYC area and will be adjusted for other localities; additionally, factors like skills and experience will be considered).

Location: Remote. In-person attendance is expected during our annual, weeklong all-staff summit. Additionally, participation for in-person meetings is expected at least once per year for most employees, at least once per quarter for senior leaders, and at least once per month for the executive team. Staff that are not in NYC are expected to travel for these meetings.

Responsibilities
  • Build high quality software solutions that deliver value for customers.
  • Develop and maintain APIs using C programming language, ensuring code quality, security, and scalability.
  • Design and implement data structures in relational and NoSQL databases to support API functionality.
  • Apply principles of object-oriented programming to enhance application architecture and design.
  • Work within cloud computing environments, such as AWS, to deploy, manage, and troubleshoot backend solutions.
  • Participate in all phases of the software development lifecycle, including requirement analysis, design, implementation, testing, and deployment.
  • Support continuous improvement by investigating alternatives and technologies within the backend tech stack.
  • Practice Agile software development methodologies.
Requirements
  • Minimum of 5 years of application development experience, with a strong focus on API development using C .
  • Experienced and proficient in backend technologies and a good understanding of how to integrate frontend technologies.
  • Experience with cloud services (AWS).
  • Hands-on experience with integrating solutions from various data source models to include AI-driven data.
  • Write well designed, testable, efficient code.
  • Ability to document requirements and specifications.
  • Translate technical situations to non-technical staff if needed.
  • Team Collaborator, who is a result's oriented proactive self-starter.
  • Flexible and adaptable with good interpersonal skills.
  • A college degree strongly preferred; equivalent experience will also be considered
  • Willingness to perform other duties and special projects as needed/requested.
