We are seeking a skilled Camera Software Engineer to develop camera control algorithms that enable high-quality media capture and AI features. Our engineers bring together world-class software/hardware and system engineers to deliver cutting-edge camera user experiences by developing groundbreaking algorithms across our entire AR, VR, and MR product portfolios.

Required Skills:

Software Engineer, Camera Algorithms Responsibilities:

1. Independently explore, prototype, and implement state-of-the-art 3A algorithms. Design and customize camera 3A algorithms to support various camera use cases on Meta devices.
2. Support tuning, system integration to meet end-to-end feature KPIs. Iteratively improving the algorithm by incorporating system and image quality feedback.
3. Create innovative Machine Learning(ML) based 3A algorithm modules that bring intelligence to the camera for superior robustness and accuracy.
4. Collaborate with cross-functional software and hardware teams to deliver data-driven system level optimizations that direct impacts to Meta products, including driving the technology roadmap and software and hardware configuration.

Minimum Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

1. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
2. 5+ years software development experience in industry settings OR PhD + 2 YOE
3. 3+ years of hands-on experience developing camera software and algorithms in C/C for industrial products including 3A algorithm development, HDR, depth-estimation or denoising.
4. In depth knowledge on camera ISP pipeline.
5. Knowledge of modern ML-based camera control algorithms
6. Experience working collaboratively in cross-functional teams.
7. Must obtain work authorization in the country of employment at the time of hire, and maintain ongoing work authorization during employment.

Preferred Qualifications:

Preferred Qualifications:

1. Knowledge on modern image processing, 3D geometry, numerical optimization is a plus.
2. Familiarity with the camera optics system and hardware modules is a plus.
3. Experience creating Machine Learning 3A algorithm modules that bring intelligence to the camera for superior robustness and accuracy.
4. Experience in Image Processing or Computational Photography, in developing any of camera related algorithms such as low-light capture, HDR, Depth estimation, video stabilization, denoising, demosaicing.
5. Experience working on the camera stack on Android or other mobile platforms
6. Knowledge/experience on image quality is a plus.
7. Knowledge/experience on microcontroller is a plus.

Public Compensation:

$70.67/hour to $208,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits
