We are seeking a skilled Camera Software Engineer to develop camera control algorithms that enable high-quality media capture and AI features. Our engineers bring together world-class software/hardware and system engineers to deliver cutting-edge camera user experiences by developing groundbreaking algorithms across our entire AR, VR, and MR product portfolios.
Required Skills: Software Engineer, Camera Algorithms Responsibilities:
- Independently explore, prototype, and implement state-of-the-art 3A algorithms. Design and customize camera 3A algorithms to support various camera use cases on Meta devices.
- Support tuning, system integration to meet end-to-end feature KPIs. Iteratively improving the algorithm by incorporating system and image quality feedback.
- Create innovative Machine Learning(ML) based 3A algorithm modules that bring intelligence to the camera for superior robustness and accuracy.
- Collaborate with cross-functional software and hardware teams to deliver data-driven system level optimizations that direct impacts to Meta products, including driving the technology roadmap and software and hardware configuration.
Minimum Qualifications: Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 5+ years software development experience in industry settings OR PhD + 2 YOE
- 3+ years of hands-on experience developing camera software and algorithms in C/C for industrial products including 3A algorithm development, HDR, depth-estimation or denoising.
- In depth knowledge on camera ISP pipeline.
- Knowledge of modern ML-based camera control algorithms
- Experience working collaboratively in cross-functional teams.
- Must obtain work authorization in the country of employment at the time of hire, and maintain ongoing work authorization during employment.
Preferred Qualifications: Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge on modern image processing, 3D geometry, numerical optimization is a plus.
- Familiarity with the camera optics system and hardware modules is a plus.
- Experience creating Machine Learning 3A algorithm modules that bring intelligence to the camera for superior robustness and accuracy.
- Experience in Image Processing or Computational Photography, in developing any of camera related algorithms such as low-light capture, HDR, Depth estimation, video stabilization, denoising, demosaicing.
- Experience working on the camera stack on Android or other mobile platforms
- Knowledge/experience on image quality is a plus.
- Knowledge/experience on microcontroller is a plus.
Public Compensation: $70.67/hour to $208,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits
