This company is transforming satellite operations by building next-generation software capable of supporting complex mission planning, orbit determination, and optimization algorithms.
About the Role
In this role, you will design and integrate a software framework using Python and C or Rust to support sophisticated physics-based models. Working closely with software and aerospace engineers, you will deliver a scalable, secure, and high-performance backend system optimized for thousands of satellite operations. You will also integrate AWS services (Lambda, EC2, S3, RDS, Fargate, EKS) and contribute to the system's automation, cost-efficiency, and resilience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and integrate backend frameworks supporting complex aerospace algorithms
- Build scalable APIs and containerized services using Python, C , or Rust
- Optimize software performance, scalability, and resource utilization using AWS services
- Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and task automation (preferably with GitHub Actions)
- Collaborate cross-functionally with aerospace engineers, satellite operators, and frontend developers
- Analyze and troubleshoot multi-tier architectures, distributed databases, and event-driven systems
What You'll Need:
Eligibility: Must be a U.S. citizen, permanent resident, refugee, asylee, or otherwise ITAR-compliant
Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
Experience: 5+ years in backend development or related roles (or equivalent self-starter experience)
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in Python, plus experience with C OR Rust,
- Applied experience developing and validating physics-based or mathematical algorithms
- Familiarity with containerized applications, serverless architecture, Git/GitHub, and CI/CD
- Strong knowledge of AWS (Lambda, EC2, ECS, EKS, S3, RDS, CloudWatch)
- Location: Must work hybrid, 2 days per week onsite, in either Seattle, WA or Arvada, CO
