Software Engineer

TITLE: Software Engineer EMPLOYER: Stripe, Inc. DUTIES: Scope, design, implement, and deploy robust scalable solutions, making appropriate tradeoffs between reliability, throughput, latency, resiliency, engineering velocity and cost; Design, build, and maintain APIs, services, and systems across Stripes engineering teams using Ruby, Scala, and Go; Contribute to team's strategy, roadmap, tooling, process, and culture; Uphold Stripe's high engineering standards and improve our codebase and processes; Debug production issues across services and several layers of the stack; Build and operate highly scalable data-intensive services; Heavily participate and contribute to various design discussions and code reviews within your team. LOCATION: Seattle, WA (and various unanticipated work locations across the U.S.) REQUIREMENTS: Master's degree in Computer Science or related and 3 years of software engineering. Position also requires the following: 3 years of experience in building software solutions in Python, Ruby, Java, Go or similar. 3 years of experience in building full-stack web applications at scale. 3 years of experience in translating business needs into software requirements and designs. 3 years of experience in debugging production issues across multiple levels of the service stack. 3 years of experience with distributed systems and AWS tooling. 3 years of experience in using SQL and related query languages to perform data analysis.
