Software Engineer ()

Develop software for testing and/or integration in Weber smart grills, accessories, and mobile applications, with a focus on Android, Quality Assurance, or embedded systems software. Assess system requirements, ensuring effective integration of software across platforms, hardware, and electronic communication protocols. Design and develop automated test and framework for validating Weber software stack. Collaborate with hardware team to ensure software works as intended at all stages of implementation. Engage in continuous improvement, remaining abreast of new technologies and protocols, ensuring Weber electronic systems and software reflect best practices and industry trends. Generate engaging and inventive solutions for software functionality, quality, and/or enhancing user experience. Perform testing, debugging, and root cause analysis for Weber software issues. May work from any location within the United States.
3 years of experience as a Software Engineer, Developer, Embedded Systems Engineer, QA Engineer, or any other occupation in which the required skills were gained. In lieu of a masters degree, employer will accept a bachelors degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Information Systems Security, or related
field, plus 5 years of experience as a Software Engineer, Developer, Embedded Systems Engineer, QA Engineer, or any other occupation in which the required skills were gained. Requires demonstrated experience in: C or C ; Git; Java or Python; Test frameworks (PyTest, JUnit, Gunit, or Appium). In addition, must have experience in ONE of the following two combinations of criteria: 1) CI/CD tools (Jenkins or Bamboo); Android Studio or Android SDK; UI Automation; Agile development. OR 2) Software for displays and capacitive sensors; Embedded systems development for cameras; UART or I2C protocols; and Wireless signal processing.
