Software Engineer

Job Summary:
Software Engineers are responsible for designing, developing, maintaining, and documenting software applications. This role requires applying industry best practices to both new and existing codebases to deliver robust and efficient software solutions that support mission-critical systems and government programs.
Responsibilities:
- Modify existing software and develop new components or systems based on project requirements.
- Translate requirements into functional software using industry-standard development practices.
- Perform unit testing and ensure compliance with coding standards.
- Leverage internal code repositories and approved Free Open Source Software (FOSS) to increase productivity and reduce costs.
- Track and report progress on assigned tasks, maintaining adherence to delivery schedules.
- Apply configuration management practices in line with Company software development and CM policies.
- Adhere to cost and schedule targets defined during the program design phase.
- Design, execute, and document software tests to validate functionality against customer requirements.
- Participate in the overall design, development, and enhancement of software products and applications.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field from an accredited institution.
- Four (4) years of professional experience.
- Proficiency in C and other unmanaged software languages.
- Experience with object-oriented programming languages.
- Familiarity with configuration management tools and practices.
- Demonstrated ability to develop to formal requirements and/or synthesize new requirements.
- Proficiency in software design methodologies.
Required Skills and Attributes:
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal) for documentation and interdisciplinary coordination.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
Security Requirements:
- U.S. Citizenship required.
- Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
