The attorney will handle cases from inception to resolution, whether by settlement or trial. This position requires a strategic thinker with strong interpersonal and negotiation skills, who thrives in a fast-paced, challenging environment.

Job Details

Responsibilities:

• Represent clients in court or before government agencies, presenting evidence to support the client and argue on their behalf.
• Conduct research, interview clients and witnesses, and handle other details in preparation for trial.
• Prepare and draft legal documents, such as wills, deeds, patent applications, mortgages, leases, and contracts.
• Negotiate settlements of civil disputes.
• Supervise legal assistants and paralegals, and manage professional relationships.
• Confer with colleagues with specialties in appropriate areas of legal issue to establish and verify bases for legal proceedings.
• Interpret laws, rulings, and regulations for individuals and businesses.
• Present and summarize cases to judges and juries.
• Evaluate findings and develop strategies and arguments in preparation for presentation of cases.
• Gather evidence to formulate defense or to initiate legal actions, by such means as interviewing clients and witnesses to ascertain the facts of a case.

Qualifications:

• Juris Doctorate degree from an accredited law school.
• Must be a member in good standing with the North Carolina State Bar.
• 2+ years of experience as a Personal Injury Trial Attorney.
• Experience with the North Carolina Court of Appeals.
• Demonstrated proficiency in preparing and presenting cases for trial.
• Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
• Must possess strong analytical abilities to handle complex legal issues.
• Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain strong relationships with clients and provide an exceptional level of client service.
• Proven track record of success in personal injury cases, including a high rate of favorable settlements and verdicts.
