Software Engineer (Java/Node/AWS) - Onsite in Glendale, CA - W2 Only.

Optomi, in partnership with a market leader in the entertainment industry, is seeking a Software Engineer for an onsite position out of their Glendale, CA office. This candidate will join the Studio Technology team and help develop media platforms, applications, and shared services that power the content supply chain. This candidate will contribute to the design, development, testing, and deployment of software solutions that support media fulfillment and B2B applications. Experience of the right candidate:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 3+ years of industry experience as a Software Engineer.
  • Strong proficiency in JavaScript, Node.js, and TypeScript.
  • Experience with Java and/or Spring Boot.
  • Hands-on experience with AWS services, including API Gateway and Serverless Computing.
  • Proficiency with GitLab and modern version control practices.
  • Strong understanding of RESTful API development and software engineering best practices.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and effective communication in a team environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Java or Kotlin-based Spring Boot applications.
  • Knowledge of database technologies such as PostgreSQL and DynamoDB.
  • Familiarity with common web technologies (HTTP, HTML, CSS, DOM).
  • AWS certifications or equivalent cloud technology certifications.
  • Experience with Identity and Access Management (IAM), especially Keycloak.
  • Exposure to infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform, Helm, and Kubernetes.

Responsibilities of the right candidate:

  • Design, develop, and deploy scalable, high-quality software solutions using industry best practices.
  • Build and maintain applications using AWS platform tools and technologies, including serverless architectures.
  • Work closely with engineers, product owners, infrastructure, and security teams to deliver reliable software solutions.
  • Participate in agile scrum ceremonies, estimate work, and contribute to sprint planning and execution.
  • Stay informed on emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices to continually improve the team's processes and code quality.
