Job Title: Software Development Engineer (IBM iSeries AS400)

Location: Coral Springs, Florida (Onsite)

Contract: 06+ months (Contract to hire)

Job Description:
  • This position requires strong technical background knowledge of the tools and services plus good communication, organizational and teamwork skills.
  • Must be able to understand, analyze, solve and test, to the customer's satisfaction, software problems, requests for software enhancements and queries regarding the Company's services and products.
  • Overall, must be able to handle development requests received and can execute and complete the requirements with minimal supervision and with excellent quality.
Primary tasks and responsibilities:

Requirements:
  • Minimum 5 years working with IBM iSeries (AS400) as programmer
  • Bachelor's degree (Computer science o related field)
  • After hours support availability
Required:
  • Bilingual - Strong written and verbal communication skills in both English and Spanish
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to quickly learn our systems, methodologies and standards.
  • Ability to easily adapt to changing business priorities including working on weekends and holidays when required.
  • Can work independently or within a team environment.
  • Ability to work well under pressure in time sensitive projects.
  • Understanding of IBM iSeries (AS400) Operations
  • On hand experience on IBM iSeries (AS400) languages utilizing RPG, RPGIV, RPG ILE, SQLRPG, CLLE.
  • Deep understanding on IBM iSeries (AS400) ADTS (application development toolset) as SEU, RLU, SDA, etc.
  • Knowledgeable on IBM iSeries (AS400) Debugging and impact analysis tools.
  • Experience working with source control systems (Aldon CMS) or any other Change management tool.
Responsibilities:
  • Know, understand and follow applicable internal policies, processes and procedures.
  • Self-training on current and new system functionalities.
  • Understand and document customer's requirements.
  • Research, analyze and solve issues.
  • Test and document solutions.
  • Assist clients on training and understanding of solutions.
  • Report to the Project Manager on the status and progress of work and accountable to the timely completion with quality.
Education and/or Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
  • Minimum of 3-5 years in using AS400 RPGLE and CLLE programming languages
