PROJECT DETAILS:

The core work is Angular front-end and Java back-end development. We also have Java batch applications with no GUI. They run overnight batch processing. It is a large team and we have applications that support developers. You may be asked to write one-off applications to preform some tasks like moving archive data from on location to another or writing a SQL Script to monitor running queries for high CPU usage. We are looking for someone who is versatile and motivated to solve whatever problem is given to them.Area of Job Within the CompanyThe role is within the risk simulation team of the broader Capital Markets Risk Technology (CMRT) group. CMRT works with its business partners to identify, measure, aggregate and report firm-wide market risk. Our team in particular writes and enhances applications for end users. We also write and maintain the applications used by developers to maintain and deploy to environments.
Candidates applying for this position should be prepared to work in this software environment with the following expectations:
• Perform in the high level technical and analytics role as an individual contributor developing web applications in Angular and Java.

• Be able to write Java batch applications that perform well.

• Write adequate unit tests for their code

• Write code that is free from common bugs (i.e. SQL injection) and can pass automated code scans.

• Write high quality code in the Java language using object-oriented principals and design patterns as appropriate

• Create/modify SQL Server database objects (tables, views, stored procedures, etc) as needed

• Work with large data sets requiring attention to computational efficiency, parallelism, and scalability

• Work as a Team Engineer in an Agile team. Need to attend daily scrum meetings and sprint planning sessions.

• Manage library dependencies of your project in a Gradle build system

• Be able to troubleshoot failed builds
