Genesis10 is currently seeking a Software Engineer with our client in the financial Industry located in Charlotte, NC. This is a 12+ month contract position.
Responsibilities: • Scope, estimate, plan, design, develop, and support data-focused projects
• Design and develop scalable data pipelines and batch processing workflows using Python and PySpark
• Build custom ETL infrastructure using AWS tools such as Glue, Lambda, MSK (Kafka), Step Functions, RDS, and S3
• Develop and maintain technical design documentation and mapping specifications
• Collaborate with developers, business analysts, and stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver solutions
• Create and implement transformation logic to support large data domains and analytical needs
• Ensure quality through unit testing, defect tracking, and classification
• Monitor and resolve issues related to data pipeline performance and delivery timelines
• Support production systems and resolve technical issues or escalate as necessary
• Coordinate with vendors and contractors to align deliverables with project goals
• Stay current with industry trends and best practices in data engineering, DevOps, and cloud technologies
Required Qualifications: - Strong developer experience in Data Engineering environments
- Hands-on proficiency in Python and PySpark for data pipeline development
- Experience with AWS services such as Glue, Lambda, MSK (Kafka), S3, Step Functions, RDS, EKS
- Proficiency in relational databases like PostgreSQL, SQL Server, Oracle, and Sybase
- Advanced SQL skills including stored procedures, views, functions, and performance tuning
- Experience in UNIX scripting, Oracle SQL/PL-SQL, and working with REST APIs
- Familiarity with data models, mining, profiling, and analysis techniques
- Background in workload automation tools such as Control-M and Autosys
- Understanding of CI/CD processes and tools like Bitbucket, GitHub, and Jenkins
- Working knowledge of Agile/SCRUM methodology
- Exposure to other ETL tools such as DataStage, Informatica, or Pentaho
- Knowledge in Master Data Management (MDM), data warehousing, and analytics
Pay Range: $56-66
