JOB TITLE: Senior Software Engineer

SALARY: £70,929 - £78,810

LOCATION(S): Bristol

HOURS: Full-time

WORKING PATTERN: Our work style is hybrid, involving at least two days per week, or 40% of our time, at our Bristol office.

About this opportunity

An important technical role implementing industry standards for modern websites based on Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) Content Management System and related Adobe technologies. Working in a cross-disciplinary team, we're looking for individuals who can turn requirements into solutions, co-leading with the Team PO for overall delivery.

What you'll do
  1. Engineer stable, scalable, performant, accessible, testable, and secure software solutions using endorsed technologies and common build patterns to minimize technical debt, following group policies for build and release.
  2. Participate in code reviews and team ceremonies to understand work, plan, set achievable goals, prioritize, raise impediments, act on findings, and share successes.
  3. Continuously seek reuse opportunities and automate repetitive manual tasks.
  4. Engage in Technical Communities to enhance shared capabilities.
  5. Participate in incident root-cause analysis to promote active application custodianship and issue resolution.
  6. Mentor emerging engineers to develop their technical skills.
  7. Invest in developing your technical and agile skills.

What you'll need
  1. Experience with design patterns, industry standards, and complex program/script development, including review leadership.
  2. Proficiency in JavaScript (ES6, React, TypeScript), HTML5, CSS (SCSS), RESTful APIs, microservices, and modern web technologies.
  3. Experience with npm packages and Webpack builds.
  4. Ability to write comprehensive test coverage.
  5. Understanding of end-to-end DevOps principles and tools, with the ability to identify and improve gaps in pipelines, especially regarding security.
  6. Knowledge of quality assurance principles and ability to prepare engineering QE reports and diagnostics under supervision.
