Your Impact

Our Data Streaming team handles the data, integrations and API backbones that power Duo's products. A recent transformation of our logging pipeline used modern data infrastructure to unlock value for our customers. We are looking for a collaborative Software Engineer to help us harness this momentum to build the next generation of APIs, infrastructure and reporting, enabling us to democratize security all. Typical responsibilities include:
  • Work with other team members to maintain and improve our streaming data platform
  • Develop and maintain data pipelines ensuring reliability, scalability, and performance as well as monitoring tools and dashboards to track the health and performance of the data platform
  • Design and implement data models and schemas for streaming data
  • Connect data sources to the streaming platform and ensure data integrity and consistency
  • Use data technologies such as Apache Kafka, OpenSearch, and Redis to manage and serve data for all of Duo's global customer base.
  • Collaborate with a wide range of internal partners (Product Management, Product Design, Customer Support, Customer Experience, etc) to engineer solutions

Minimum Requirements for this role:
  • 3+ years in server-side web application, REST API, or microservices development.
  • Proficient in Python 3 and asynchronous frameworks
  • Experience with databases like MySQL, Redis, OpenSearch, and Kafka in SaaS environments
  • Knowledge of automated testing practices
Preferred Skills & Experience:
  • AWS, Terraform, and Docker for cloud service deployment and management
  • CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, and tools like Ansible and Terraform
  • Source code management using Git
  • Monitoring using such as Datadog, Grafana, or Splunk Observability
  • Strong focus on usability and user experience for both internal and external user
  • Interest or previous experience with machine learning concepts and infrastructure
