What You'll Do

As a Software Engineer at Applied Materials, you'll dive deep into ground-breaking technologies-like machine learning and AI-pushing the boundaries to craft novel software solutions that solve our customers' high-value problems. You'll design, develop, and debug software programs for enhancements and new products-and work on challenging projects, contributing your expertise in intricate systems, deciphering code, and anticipating software behaviors to ensure Applied remains the leader in the semiconductor and display sectors.

Role Responsibilities:
  • Develops code and documentation for a variety of difficult software projects, and design and implement bug fixes.
  • Designs a variety of difficult software projects.
  • Defines software specifications.
  • Interfaces with internal customers for requirements analysis and schedule.
  • Troubleshoots a variety of difficult software problems. Performs software tests on code and enhancements.
  • Interfaces with external customers regarding software issues.
  • Interfaces with external customers regarding software issues.
  • Compiles data for regularly scheduled or special reports, analysis and statements.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field
  • 5+ years of software engineering experience
  • Experience in C, C , and Java. C nice to have
  • Experience with reactive Microservices
  • Data and application security
  • Experience working with Databases
  • Experience working with Cloud Native Architectures
  • Experience working with IoT and Industry 4.0 technologies
  • Solves complex problems; takes a new perspective on existing solutions; exercises judgment based on the analysis of multiple sources of information

The salary offered to a selected candidate will be based on multiple factors including location, hire grade, job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and with consideration of internal equity of our current team members. In addition to a comprehensive benefits package, candidates may be eligible for other forms of compensation such as participation in a bonus and a stock award program, as applicable.

For all sales roles, the posted salary range is the Target Total Cash (TTC) range for the role, which is the sum of base salary and target bonus amount at 100% goal achievement.
