Reporting directly to Director, Web Application Development within the information Technology department, The Software Engineer III will act as a senior technical resource on Visual Comfort & Co.'s eCommerce website. This role will be an active code contributor as well as guiding both internal and external development resources code contributions. This role will be the gate keeper to the codebase - performing code reviews, merging pull requests and handling deployments to development and production environments. They will be involved in coding, sprint planning, daily scrums, and communicating with team members on both progress and roadblocks.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop front and backend solutions in Adobe Commerce, Edge Delivery Services, and App Builder for website enhancements.
  • Collaborate with Product Owners/Managers to provide technical insight and feasibility recommendations. Estimate and define tasks for sprints.
  • Provide guidance to onshore and offshore developers in implementing user stories, features, and big fixes.
  • Merge and deploy releases to development and production environments.
  • Increase code coverage of the automated test.
  • Integrate new digital marketing and analytics tools into Adobe Commerce and Edge Delivery.
  • Regularly review logs for errors and implement fixes for them.
  • Document process and workflows
  • Fine-tuning front and backend site architecture to optimize the site performance.
  • Work with the infrastructure team to ensure that the environments are optimized.
  • Monitor the site for uptime and help resolve issues.
  • Works effectively with others in a team environment to accomplish organizational goals and to identify and resolve problems.

Requirements:
  • 5+ years of experience architecting, developing, and supporting both front-end, device-reactive, and back-end web systems in a mid-size or larger company.
  • B.S. in Computer Science or a similar field or equivalent work experience.
  • 3+ years of experience working in an Adobe Commerce 2.4 or higher e-commerce environment architecting, integrating, designing, developing, testing, and maintaining an e-commerce website. Adobe Commerce certification is a plus.
  • 3+ years of experience programming SQL statements and designing MySQL or MS SQL Server data models.
  • 3+ years of experience being responsible for the full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
  • Understanding of Adobe Commerce's code structure, extension architecture, and theme hierarchy.
  • Experience with Adobe Commerce APIs (REST, GraphQL) and building custom modules, and extending the functionality of Commerce to deliver customized features.
  • Experience with Adobe App Builder and Adobe I/O Runtime preferred.
  • Experience with Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager.
  • Experience with Automated testing, CI/CD pipelines, and other DevOps best practices.
