About the job

Google's software engineers develop the next-generation technologies that change how billions of users connect, explore, and interact with information and one another. Our products handle information at massive scale, extending beyond web search. We seek engineers with fresh ideas across areas like information retrieval, distributed computing, large-scale system design, networking, data storage, security, artificial intelligence, natural language processing, UI design, and mobile development. As a software engineer, you will work on specific projects critical to Google's needs, with opportunities to switch teams and projects as our business evolves. We value versatility, leadership, and enthusiasm for tackling new problems across the full stack.

Google Ads powers the open internet with technology that creates value for users, publishers, advertisers, and Google. Our teams develop advertising products including search, display, shopping, travel, and video ads, along with analytics. We create trusted experiences between people and businesses with effective ads, supporting businesses of all sizes and enabling Google to engage with customers at scale.

Responsibilities
  • Contribute to the design process, including writing your own design documents.
  • Learn and support the technologies used by the team (e.g., Spanner, Geyser, F1, BigTable, Java, AngularDart) and share knowledge within the team.
  • Participate in team rotations and help maintain our infrastructure, including within the larger AdSense ecosystem.
  • Support other teams and lead investigations or explorations on cross-stack issues or feature requests.
