Opportunity:

Virtual Service Operations is searching for an experienced Software Engineer to support a Center Operations Directorate by developing and maintaining software critical to the center's IT and OT infrastructure. This role involves full lifecycle software engineering for systems such as operating platforms, virtualization tools, and performance tracking, ensuring compatibility, scalability, and reliability of COD's mission-supporting technologies.

In this role, you will be responsible for designing, building, testing, and deploying scalable software solutions. The role involves working collaboratively on architecture, code reviews, debugging, and Agile development practices. Candidates should have a relevant degree or equivalent experience, proficiency in modern programming languages, and familiarity with web frameworks, APIs, databases, and version control. Preferred qualifications include experience with cloud platforms, containerization, CI/CD, and Agile methodologies.

Telework is available, with occasional on-site presence required in Hampton, VA.

Requirements
  • 5 - 7 years of experience with software engineering
  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Familiarity with containerization (Docker) and/or CI/CD pipelines.
  • Exposure to Agile/Scrum methodologies.
  • Desired Certifications / Training: AWS or Azure cloud certification
  • Must be within 50 miles driving distance of Hampton, VA OR willing to relocate there
  • Must be willing to work onsite occasionally
  • Please note that pursuant to a government contract, this specific position requires U.S. citizenship status
  • New hires assigned on this project will be required to undergo and pass drug and alcohol tests per our client's contract requirements
  • Must be willing and able to undergo a government Public Trust (SF-85) background investigation.

Salary Description

$95,000.00 - $105,000.00
