ClearanceJobs' client is seeking a Software Engineer to work on-site in Mesa, AZ supporting Air National Guard F-16 simulator technology. The individual's primary responsibility will be to design, develop, document, test, and debug applications software and systems that support the F-16 Mission Tactics Trainer simulators, especially related to the F-16 MTT Operational Flight Program (OFP) and Center Display Unit (CFU). This involves conducting multidisciplinary research and collaborating with equipment designers and/or hardware engineers in the planning, design, development, and utilization of electronic data processing systems for F-16 MTT simulator software. An active DOD Secret Clearance with ability to upgrade to Special Access Program and Information Assurance Training (IAT) Level 2 Certification (ex. CompTIA Security+) is required. Responsibilities:
• Develop software using C, C , or C
• Develop software for VxWorks
• Implement and support APIs between internal and external system components
• Apply Agile Software Development Lifecycle methodologies and processes
• Utilize debugging and analysis tools
• Prepare and present findings and recommendations to organization leadership
• Other duties as assigned Required:
• 5+ years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 8+ years relevant experience without a degree is acceptable.
• Active DoD Secret Clearance with the ability to upgrade to Special Access Program / Special Access Required (SAP/SAR).
• Information Assurance Training (IAT) Level 2 Certification (ex. CompTIA Security+)
• Experience with distributed simulation software applications, scheduling tools and environment generator applications.
• Experience developing software that produces and consumes distributed simulation protocols (e.g., DIS, HLA)
• Experience developing real-time simulation software.
• Effective written and oral communication skills
• Excellent time management skills
• Experience researching new technologies to help solve existing technical problems or shortfalls
• Must be able to lift and/or move up to 40 pounds
• Must be able to walk and/or climb stairs and/or ladders into a simulator or airplane cockpit
• Must be able to stoop, bend, and crawl on top or under simulators
• Must be able to distinguish colors Desired:
• Experience with tools such as Test Complete, QTP, Selenium, JIRA, Jenkins or GitLab.
• Experience in the DoD simulator community.
• Experience supporting SAP efforts.
