Software Engineer 2 - Subject Matter Expert - Billet 2295
Country Intelligence Group is seeking a Full-Time Software Engineer 2 (Subject Matter Expert) to support our client located in Chantilly, Virginia. The selected candidate will work within an existing team to maintain and enhance a social media data exploitation platform. This role requires expertise in Python development, API integrations, Linux support, and web technologies, applying DevOps principles to continuously improve and secure mission-critical applications. Job Description:
Work Requirements and Essential Job Functions:
• Collaborate with the Sponsor's product owner and program manager to deliver user stories that align with the product vision.
• Coordinate with multiple mission partners to ensure tools meet defined operational requirements.
• Apply DevOps principles to deliver high-value enhancements to service-based architectures.
• Ensure all application security vulnerabilities are remediated based on severity levels to maintain security accreditation.
• Maintain all source code in a Sponsor-wide, remote Git repository.
• Design, develop, and maintain SQL-based databases to support application needs.
Education, Skills and Qualifications:
• Proven work experience in cybersecurity or a related IT field.
• Python development, including developing Python API interactions.
• Experience utilizing Anaconda / Micro Mamba for package installation.
• Linux system support, including Bash scripting, Cron jobs, and IT automation.
• API development and integration, including working with sockets, GraphQL, and RESTful APIs.
• Proficiency in Java.
• Android app development experience using Kotlin, Dart, and Flutter.
• Knowledge of web technologies, including: -Cookies and web transactions -Communication between hosts -Developer tools (e.g., Network tab) -Mobile compatibility mode
• Understanding of SSL and certificates for secure communication between applications.
• Experience designing, developing, and maintaining SQL-based databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL). (Preferred)
• Expertise in PL/SQL scripting, including procedures, functions, exception handlers, and triggers. (Preferred)
• Ability to write and optimize complex queries for structured and unstructured datasets. (Preferred)
• Experience maintaining Jenkins CI/CD pipelines with automated testing and deployment. (Preferred)
• Knowledge of big data processing and NoSQL databases (MongoDB, ElasticSearch, MapReduce, HBase). (Preferred)
• Ability to manage, troubleshoot, and upgrade software, hardware, and networks. (Preferred)
• Experience working with Apache NiFi for data flow automation. (Preferred)
• Knowledge of Extract, Transform, and Load (ETL) processes. (Preferred)
