As a Software Development Manager at Clearwater, you will play a crucial role in accomplishing our mission. You will manage a team of talented software engineers on the Asset Allocators team. This team is responsible for collaborating with Sales and Product to understand the needs of a new adjacent market segment and enhance Clearwater's platform to close any gaps that are needed.
In this role, you will - Translate company strategy and goals into effective team execution.
- Deliver large projects with appropriate scope and timing, providing periodic updates to stakeholders.
- Collaborate with management and product owners to negotiate and prioritize scope.
- Measure, analyze, and improve the performance of the collective software development team.
- Set high expectations for team, effectively communicate those expectations, and follow up on them.
- Identify and delegate responsibilities and deliverables for direct reports to help them grow in capability and influence.
- Forecast and plan for the technology needs of software development teams.
- Actively seek opportunities to update and engage senior leaders regarding the progress, achievements, and challenges of their team.
- Continuously build your skills through regular training, mentoring, and access to free trainings on Udemy for Business and LinkedIn Learning.
About the technology We leverage a range of technologies to support the development of quality software, including:
- Various database technologies, Java, and React for our main application stacks across our platform.
- Git repositories hosted on Gitlab for code management.
- OpenSearch and Dynatrace for application logging and monitoring.
- Cloudbees, Artifactory, Terraform, and Amazon Web Services for builds, deployment, infrastructure, and configuration. We are also leveraging Docker, Helm, and Kubernetes.
- Junit and Cypress for automated testing.

We would love to hear from you if you have - 9+ years of enterprise software development experience, including 4+ years of experience managing a team.
- Strong system design principles with practical application of highly available distributed systems.
- Professional experience with running software systems on a public-cloud provider.
